Design Firm and Music Promotion Website Internship

Position Description:
We are looking for another intern to work at our Bits and Watts office in Northern Liberties. If you don't know what BitsAndWatts.com is (don't know how that's possible), it's a site that streams the music of artists who are playing in the Philadelphia area in the next few weeks. We don't promote venues like the electric factory or sell-out bands, we cater to the medium size venues like Johnny Brenda's, M room, the fire, kung fu necktie, world cafe live, etc. So if you would rather find that new upcoming band at the north star bar rather than go stand in a sweaty crowd listening to the same song you hear every minute on the radio, this gig is for you. Ideally we would love a graphic design, marketing or web design student. Since we also run a design firm, graphic/interactive/web designers/students welcome to apply. Internship turns into paid internship if intern works consistently on a weekly schedule. Internship duties include: - Website calendar management - Helping out when we throw "BitsAndWatts Presents" shows - Going to shows - Contacting artists - Occasionally dropping off promo materials at venues - Telling everyone you know about the site If you're a design student, duties may include: - Website design concepts - Ad designs - Conceptual brainstorming - Print design Requirements: - Minimum of 10 hours per week - Into music (we don't care what kind, sarah mclachlan to gwar, whateves) - Computer skills (social networking/media knowledge a plus) - Reliable – i mean, we're flexible but too hungover to come in when you say you are.. not fun :( - Organized - Own transportation (car, unicycle, helicopter, etc.) - Must be cool with our director of security Jude Winston, he's an English bull dog... snores a lot.
