Established formally in 1967, Northwestern Mutual’s Internship Program has been ranked one of America’s Top Ten Internships for 14 consecutive years according to Vault Guide yearly publication. As part of the network, The Philadelphia Group offers students the opportunity to work with a financial representative, establish their own business on a part-time basis, earn money based on their energy and ambition, and gain valuable practical business experience in helping people achieve financial security.

Nature of Business: Financial Services
Job Description:
•Mentoring program of structured hours working with management team members learning the personal and business analysis process
•Marketing & Selling to clients

Program Requirements:
•Full-time student at an accredited college or university
•Self-motivated, well-rounded, and in good academic standing
•Enthusiastic, dedicated to the challenge of helping others
•Integrity and maturity to make financial recommendations
•Able to commit 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during the summer
•Natural Market/Marketing skills

Salary Range: Per Program Period (summer, fall and spring)
•Development Stipend: incentive of up to $1,000 per program period to learn about the business, develop sales skills and engage in defined college intern training activities
•Productivity Stipend: incentive of up to $1,000 per program period based on the number of lives written and submitted by the college intern. Interns can earn a $500 stipend for writing and submitting 5 lives. An additional $500 for writing and submitting another 5 lives for a total of $1,000 for 10 lives each program period.
•Commissions: In addition to the development and productivity stipends, interns will earn commissions on their sales.
