Internship with the Community & Economic Development (CED) Department of the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC). This department builds bridges between low- and moderate- income people and mainstream financial institutions for purposes of community development and individual economic empowerment. Programs include: financial education, foreclosure prevention, employer - assisted housing, connections between communities and wealth, community reinvestment and impact development.
Assistance with any of the listed programs are available, as well as own projects related to community and economic development topics in Philadelphia. Interns have flexibility in their topic choices, and can create/manage a project in any of the topic areas that CED covers.
Interest / experience with community development, economic development, and community reinvestment is welcome.
College coursework in economics, finance, community development, communications, sociology, psychology, management, business are a plus.
Strong written communication - email, letter, memo, report, research, etc - required.
Interest in community development and working to uplift low and moderate income communities is a must!
