The AmeriCorps member will assist to implement and lead all daily community activities. This includes surveys, meetings with parish/community and nearby partners, providing administrative and data entry support from the ESL and after school students. The AmeriCorps member is responsible for assisting in planning, developing and implementing Adult Educational, recreational, social, and cultural group activities.

Assist with adult education and parish community resources projects, ex: ESL, after school program, volunteer recruitment and food pantry
Assist the Program Director with the coordination of community activities
Work closely with the Program Director to expand the current services and outreach to parish/community
Develop curricula, organize and teach Adult Education Classes, ex: ESL, computer literacy, financial literacy
Assist with community engagement projects, ex: community garden, beautification projects
Assist the Director to engage the parish/community members and support the needs within Adult Education, community services and Volunteer recruitment.

AmeriCorps service term: September 2020-July 2021
Average hours/week: 30-40
Living stipend: $14,279 pre-tax
Education Award: $6,195 pre-tax


Requires a minimum AD or BS in Human Services, Education, Political Sciences or Social Work.
Ability to develop and implement creative, Adult Education appropriate curriculum.
Must be motivated to learn and grow in an outreach and service environment; and be willing to continually increase knowledge in the field of Adult Education and Parish/Community Outreach.
Ability to relate well to Adults and children, parish’s staff, teachers and community members.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model
Self starter, enthusiastic and passionate about working with diversity.
Bilingual English/Spanish is desired but not required.
