The Teller 1 greets customers, processes transactions and ensures that customer expectations are being met through extraordinary customer service. The position requires a working knowledge and adherence to all policies and procedures and strict adherence to regulations and compliance initiatives. The Teller 1 embraces “Do what’s right” as the singular priority in all activities.


Processes deposits, withdrawals and loan transactions of all types, ensuring proper endorsement and “float” assignments
Cashes checks adhering to “check cashing policy”; gains approval when necessary
Maintains proper currency limits
Sells money orders, treasurer’s checks, Travelers Cheques and savings bonds
Reconciles cash and transactions each day to within balancing standards and assists in basic office settlement
Maintains an orderly work area and ensures that all negotiable and confidential records are properly secured; maintains confidentiality of depositor information
Understands and adheres to all security and dual control procedures
Continues to build on a basic understanding of all Bank products and services
Responsible for referrals of all products and actively participates in Branch and individual goals
Follows Being Beneficial Service Principles
Ensures a mutually respectful workplace
Educates customers to do the right thing financially


Minimum 6 months experience as a Teller or in a customer service position
High School diploma or equivalent
Committed to delivering extraordinary customer service at all times and adhering to the Being Beneficial Service Principles
Able to converse with customers in a friendly manner and answer basic banking questions; committed to educating customers
Able to multi-task
Able to settle work quickly with a minimum of differences
