Description

This position is in the on-grounds educational program, St. Katharine Drexel School. The school is a support program to the residential services provided to adolescent males at St. Francis-St. Joseph. The school is for 70 students with a staff of 24 teachers, teacher’s aides, and behavior management and supervisory staff. The school program works closely with the residential, social service, and clinical departments at the agency.

It is a position with a variety of duties that involve direct contact with students, planning, research, and community outreach. Responsibilities include:

Tutor students individually or in small groups as determined by educational staff
Work closely with teachers for in class academic support
Work with supervisory staff to develop evidenced based group curriculum component for the school program
Conduct social skills groups on topics assigned or developed
Develop with supervisory staff a system for documenting student progress as indicated on the daily point sheets for each student; implement this data system
Participate in Community Meetings, staff meetings, assemblies, school trips and other meetings as assigned
Attend residential team meetings or recertification meetings, as assigned
Provide direct supervision in classrooms for coverage, as needed
