The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is seeking a part-time, seasonal Sales Associate to join its museum store sales team. This position will alternate between our two retail locations in center city Philadelphia and Chestnut Hill, PA.
Reporting to the Retail Manager, this position will have a collaborative role optimizing the visitors' store experience, driving revenue, and fostering a professional and positive environment. Sales Associates are central to meeting daily and weekly store goals and engaging, cultivating and building a base of repeat customers. Sales Associates may be assigned to receiving and store replenishment and must be able to lift 25 pounds. Sales Associates maintain an organized and pristine workspace.
Candidates must be able to work Thursdays through Sundays (12:00 PM–6:00 PM). Occasional late evenings. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.
Greet customers and provide exemplary customer service, answering
questions, and making suggestions.
Operate retail technology systems including customer check-out and
Adhere to strict cash handling procedures.
Manage and/or execute timely merchandise flow, replenishment, and
Perform opening and closing procedures.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior sales experience in a similar retail gift or merchandise
Experience with retail POS systems is required.
Excellent communication and organizational skills a must.
Team oriented with the ability to work independently
