Description

The Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) has great, collegiate opportunities with our External Affairs team for the summer! This is an ideal opportunity for college students to get hands on experience in the day to day operations of a large nonprofit organization. We are looking for students who are interested in marketing, communications, social media, program operations, client relations, office administration, and learning the ins-and-outs of running a nonprofit. These seasonal positions are integral to UAC, as they support daily workflow, impact internal and external communications, assist client relations, and help UAC drive change from the ground up.

Position Summary(s):
Marketing & Communications
• Assist with marketing projects
• Manage social media campaigns
• Assist with publishing weekly email publications
• Draft content for newsletters and articles
• Draft content for blogs and manage postings
• Create and edit videos, photographs, and dynamic content
• Attend UAC Meetings & Events

Administration
• Support office automation
• Support improvements for internal communication/ policies & procedures
• Perform research to find content relevant to our customer base
• Liaison with Program Services, Executive Office, and UAC Program Partners
• Attend UAC Meetings & Events

Special Projects:
• Attend UAC Meetings & Events
• Work on special projects as directed:
o Marketing & Communications Mini-site
o Summer Youth Employment Mini-Site
o Client Relation Mapping Project
o Seed Stage Cohort Project

Requirements

Current College or Graduate Student• Detail oriented •Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines • Team Orientated • Strong Writing Skills • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel • Strong Organizational Skills • Flexible • Proactive in taking on assignments and new responsibilities • Willingness to learn • Web Design (ideal but not required)• Strong Communication skills • Time Management Skills • Competent social media user: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Canva, Mailchimp
